Meet Simone: The Senior Therapist Behind Wellface's Skin Transformations

S Simone Published 12 June 2025 · 9 min read

Every clinic has people who quietly hold the whole experience together. At Wellface, I'm one of those people, our senior therapist, and if you've booked a facial or a skin treatment with us recently, there's a good chance I'm the calm, capable presence you met at the door.

I joined the team when I was ready for a change. I'd spent over ten years working in skin in London, and I wanted something a little different: a new area, a different mix of patients, and a clinic close enough to home to feel like part of my life rather than a commute I endured. What I found at Wellface was a team of women who genuinely back one another, and a menu of treatments that keep pushing me to learn.

This post is a proper introduction. I'll talk about my approach to skin, the treatments I reach for most often, and why, when you ask me what I love best about the job, I don't name a machine or a technique. I name the person in the chair.

The therapist behind the treatments

Ten years in aesthetics teaches you things no course can. I've treated a huge range of skin, ages and concerns, and that experience shows in how I work. I'm unhurried. I listen before I reach for anything. And I've got the sort of hands that make even a first-timer relax within the first few minutes.

What I talk about most, though, is not the treatments at all. It's the arc of getting to know someone over months. My favourite part of the job is watching a patient walk in low on confidence, unhappy with their skin and carrying it in their shoulders, then seeing them six months or a year later standing that little bit taller. The skin improves, yes, but so does the way people hold themselves. That change is the thing I find most satisfying, and it shapes how I plan treatment: not as a one-off fix, but as a series of small, sensible steps that add up.

That philosophy fits Wellface well. As a doctor-led clinic, we're careful about what we recommend and honest about what a treatment can and cannot do. I work alongside our doctors, which means the therapy side and the medical side talk to each other. If your skin would do better with a prescription-strength approach or an injectable, I'll say so. If a facial is all you need, I'll say that too.

Morpheus8: rebuilding skin from the inside

Morpheus8 is one of the treatments I use when someone wants a genuine change in skin quality rather than a quick refresh. It combines two well-established ideas into one device. The first is microneedling, where very fine needles create tiny controlled channels in the skin to trigger the body's natural repair response. The second is radiofrequency energy, which is delivered through those same needles to warm the deeper layers of the skin.

That heat is the clever part. It causes existing collagen to contract straight away, which gives a subtle tightening effect, and it prompts the skin to lay down fresh collagen and elastin over the following weeks and months. Because the needle depth can be adjusted, the treatment can be tailored to different areas and different concerns, from fine lines and enlarged pores to softening the look of acne scarring and mild laxity along the jaw and cheeks.

What a session and recovery look like

Numbing cream goes on first, so most people find the treatment very manageable. A session usually takes somewhere between half an hour and an hour depending on the area. Afterwards it's normal to look a little red and feel warm, rather like mild sunburn, and some people notice tiny pinpoint marks or slight swelling for a day or two. For most, that settles within a couple of days, and then the slower work begins under the surface.

Morpheus8 is not a single-appointment treatment. Results build gradually, and a short course of sessions spaced a few weeks apart tends to give the best outcome, with improvements continuing to develop over three to six months as new collagen matures. I'm upfront about this. It's an investment in your skin over time, and the payoff is the kind of firmer, smoother texture that looks like your own skin on a very good day.

Hydrafacial: the reset your skin actually notices

If Morpheus8 is the deep, long-term project, Hydrafacial is the treatment I recommend when someone wants their skin to look fresher, clearer and more hydrated without any downtime at all. It has become one of the most requested facials in the world, and for good reason. It does several jobs in one go and leaves the skin looking polished the moment you sit up.

The treatment uses a handpiece that cleanses and gently exfoliates, lifts away dead surface cells and debris from the pores using a vortex suction, and then floods the skin with hydrating and antioxidant serums. It's thorough but gentle, and it suits almost every skin type. People often describe it as feeling like a light massage rather than a clinical procedure.

Why people keep coming back to it

The appeal of Hydrafacial is that there's no trade-off. You get a visible glow, a smoother makeup base and cleaner-looking pores, and you can walk straight back out into your day. There's no redness to hide and nothing to recover from. That's why it's such a popular choice before a wedding, an event or a big meeting, and why plenty of my patients build it into their routine every four to six weeks as regular maintenance. It also pairs beautifully with the more intensive work, keeping the skin in good condition between courses of something like Morpheus8.

The Fire & Ice Facial: the red carpet glow

Then there's the Fire & Ice Facial, a treatment with something of a cult following. It has earned its nicknames, the Hollywood facial and the red carpet facial, because it delivers a fast, noticeable glow with little to no downtime, which is exactly what you want before a special occasion.

The name describes the experience. The treatment uses two professional-grade masks in sequence. The first, the resurfacing or fire mask, is where the work happens. It contains active ingredients such as glycolic acid, retinol and niacin, and it creates a warm tingling sensation as it exfoliates and encourages cellular renewal. That warmth is normal and short-lived. The second mask, the rejuvenating or ice mask, cools and calms everything down, delivering hydration through ingredients like hyaluronic acid alongside soothing botanicals such as aloe vera and green tea.

Who it suits and when to book it

The Fire & Ice Facial bridges the gap between a relaxing facial and a stronger clinical peel. It refines texture, softens the look of fine lines and leaves the skin bright and smooth, but without the flaking or peeling you might associate with a deeper treatment. Any flush usually settles within a few hours. I often suggest booking it four to seven days before a big event so the skin has time to reach its best, and for those who love the results, a monthly treatment keeps the complexion ticking over nicely. It suits most skin types, though as always I'll check your skin and your medical history first, particularly if you use strong retinoids or acids at home.

Building a plan around you, not a menu

Ask me to name my single favourite treatment and I won't do it, because that's not really how I think. The device matters far less than the plan behind it. A Hydrafacial before a wedding, a course of Morpheus8 for someone frustrated with texture and laxity, a Fire & Ice Facial to wake up tired skin: these are tools, and the skill is in choosing the right one at the right time for the right person.

That's also where being part of a doctor-led clinic counts. My treatments sit within a wider offering that includes injectables, skin boosters, polynucleotides and prescription skincare, so a plan can grow with you. Many people start with a facial, get comfortable, and then, guided by me and our doctors, add in the treatments that will make the biggest difference to their particular concerns. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is sold to you that you don't need.

Common questions about seeing me at Wellface

Do I need to know which treatment I want before I book?

Not at all. Plenty of people arrive knowing only that they're not happy with their skin, and that's a perfectly good starting point. The team and I will look at your skin, ask about your concerns and your lifestyle, and talk you through the sensible options. You'll leave with a plan that suits your skin, your budget and the time you can give to recovery.

Which treatment is best if I have an event coming up?

For a fast, no-downtime glow, a Hydrafacial or a Fire & Ice Facial is usually the answer, ideally booked a few days to a week before the day itself so your skin looks its freshest. Morpheus8 is better planned well in advance, because it works over weeks and months rather than overnight.

How soon will I see results?

It depends on the treatment. Hydrafacial and Fire & Ice give an immediate, visible glow the same day. Morpheus8 offers a subtle tightening early on, but the real change comes gradually as your skin builds new collagen over the following months, which is why a short course tends to work best.

Are these treatments suitable for all skin types?

Generally yes, and that's one reason I like them. Morpheus8 can be adjusted for different skin types when performed by a trained practitioner, and both Hydrafacial and Fire & Ice are gentle enough for most skin. The honest answer, though, is that suitability is decided at your consultation, once we know your skin, your history and any medication you take.

Can I combine facials with other Wellface treatments?

Yes, and many people do. Facials sit happily alongside injectables, skin boosters and medical-grade skincare, and combining them thoughtfully often gives the best overall result. Because our doctors and therapists work together, any combined plan is coordinated properly rather than pieced together.

Come and meet me for yourself

The best way to understand how I work is to sit in the chair and let me look at your skin. I'll tell you honestly what I see, what is realistic, and where to start, and I'll build something around your goals rather than a fixed package.

Wellface has clinics in Cobham, Esher and Wimbledon, so there's likely one within easy reach. To book a consultation with me, or to ask which treatment might suit you, call the team on 01932 690800 or send us a message. I'd love to meet you.
