The Songs We Walk In To, and the Glow We Want You to Walk Out With

WF The Wellface Team Published 3 October 2025 · 8 min read

Every so often the clinic turns into a bit of a stage. This time, the Wellface team picked the tracks that sum them up best and made their entrances one by one. Some came in on big, brassy energy. A couple brought the smooth K-Pop choreography. And one of us, quite rightly, claimed Tina Turner and walked in as "Simply the Best". It was silly and joyful and completely unscripted, and it told you more about the people here than any list of qualifications ever could.

There is a serious point hiding inside the fun, though. The same way we glow walking in to a good song, we want you to glow walking out of your appointment. Confidence has a soundtrack, and it also has a look: skin that catches the light, a face that looks rested rather than reworked, and the quiet ease of feeling like yourself on a good day.

So this post is part celebration of the team and part honest look at what "glowing" actually means in a doctor-led clinic. Because personality and results are not opposites. The best aesthetic care comes from people who are relaxed enough to be themselves, and who want the same for you.

Why a clinic full of doctors made a dancing reel

Aesthetics can feel intimidating from the outside. Clinical rooms, needles, jargon, the worry that you will be talked into something you did not ask for. A reel of the team walking in to their favourite anthems is a small way of pulling back the curtain and showing the people you will actually meet.

Wellface is doctor-led, with a team that includes founder Dr Yasmin Tayeb, Dr Yosra Albeyatti, Dr Amina Albeyatti, Dr Bianca Coveva, Dr Olivia McCormack and Dr Hannah Sunley. That medical grounding matters enormously when you are trusting someone with your face. But it does not mean the atmosphere has to be cold. The most reassuring consultations tend to happen when a patient feels they are talking to a real person, not reading from a script.

Personality also shapes the work itself. A practitioner who is comfortable in their own skin is far more likely to tell you when a treatment is not right for you, to slow down, to build results gradually rather than chase a trend. The playfulness you see in a reel and the care you feel in the treatment chair come from the same place.

What confidence actually looks like

We talk about confidence a lot in aesthetics, sometimes as if it is something you buy in a syringe. It is not. Real confidence is subtler. It is not about looking dramatically different. It is about the gap between how you feel and how you look closing, so that the tired, drawn version in the mirror stops being the first thing you notice.

Plenty of research on how people perceive their own appearance points to the same thing: small, well-judged improvements tend to lift mood and self-assurance more than sweeping changes, partly because they still read as you. When a result is overdone, people often feel more self-conscious, not less, because they can sense that others are noticing something "different" rather than simply thinking they look well.

That is why the goal at Wellface is rarely a new face. It is a refreshed one. The compliment we want you to get is "you look great, have you been on holiday?" rather than "what have you had done?". Confidence lives in that ambiguity, in looking like the most rested version of yourself.

Glow is not just skincare

When someone says they want to glow, they usually mean a few things at once. Better light reflection from smooth, hydrated skin. More even tone, with fewer patches of redness or pigmentation pulling the eye. A little bounce and firmness rather than a flat, tired surface. And often, softer expression lines around the eyes and forehead so the face looks calmer at rest.

No single treatment delivers all of that, which is why a good consultation starts with what you actually want to change rather than with a product menu.

The treatments that help you walk out glowing

There is no universal glow button, but there are treatments that reliably move you in that direction. The right one depends on your skin, your age, your downtime tolerance and what is bothering you most.

For overall skin quality, Profhilo is a firm favourite. It is a stabilised form of hyaluronic acid that spreads through the skin to hydrate deeply and stimulate the body's own collagen and elastin, improving firmness and that lit-from-within look over a course of sessions. Polynucleotides and skin boosters work along similar lines, targeting hydration, texture and resilience rather than adding volume. These are the treatments people tend to reach for when they want to look well rather than obviously "done".

If tone and clarity are the issue, energy-based devices come into their own. BBL Hero and MOXI from the same laser family can tackle pigmentation, redness and dullness, giving skin a brighter, more even canvas. Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency to firm and refine deeper in the skin, and the Secret Pro platform offers CO2 laser resurfacing for more significant texture and ageing concerns. These involve more downtime, so they suit people who are happy to plan around a few days of recovery in exchange for a bigger step change.

For a fast, pre-event glow, Hydrafacial cleanses, exfoliates and infuses the skin in one session with essentially no downtime, which is why so many people book it before a wedding or a big night out. Aquagold, sometimes called a glow facial, uses tiny needles to deliver a bespoke blend just under the surface for radiance on a similar timescale. Microneedling, PRP and skin peels round out the options for texture, tone and gradual rejuvenation.

And then there is the expression side of things. Anti-wrinkle injections soften the lines that form with movement, dermal fillers restore volume where the face has lost support, and treatments like Aqualyx address stubborn pockets of fat. Used sparingly and skilfully, these keep the face looking relaxed rather than frozen. The art is in restraint.

Building a plan rather than picking a treatment

The patients who are happiest long term rarely arrive asking for one specific thing and leave with only that. More often, a consultation uncovers a combination: perhaps some skin quality work for glow, a light touch of anti-wrinkle treatment for the lines that bother them, and a good medical-grade skincare routine to protect the investment at home. Layering treatments thoughtfully, and spacing them properly, is how results stay natural.

Personality in, personality out

The thread running through that walk-in reel is that no two people are the same. One person is all big energy, another is quiet and precise, another is a throwback classic through and through. Faces are like that too. A treatment plan that flatters one person can flatten the character out of another.

This is where a doctor-led approach earns its keep. Reading a face is not just about spotting a line and treating it. It is about understanding how someone smiles, how they animate when they talk, what makes them look like them. Good practitioners treat those features as something to preserve, not to iron away. You should walk out with more of your own personality on show, not less.

That is really the whole point of the reel. We want the clinic to feel like a place run by people, for people. The music was a bit of fun. The philosophy behind it is not.

Common questions about looking and feeling your best

Will people be able to tell I have had something done?

With a considered plan, usually not in an obvious way. The aim is for you to look refreshed rather than altered, so the reaction you get tends to be vague and positive, along the lines of you looking well or rested. If subtlety matters to you, say so clearly in your consultation, because it genuinely shapes the approach.

Which treatment gives the fastest glow?

For a quick lift with essentially no downtime, Hydrafacial and Aquagold are the usual go-to options before an event. For a deeper, longer-lasting glow that builds over weeks, treatments like Profhilo, polynucleotides and skin boosters tend to give a more lasting change in skin quality. Many people combine the two, using an instant treatment for an occasion and a course of skin work for the bigger picture.

I have never had anything done before. Where do I start?

Start with a consultation and nothing more. A good first appointment is a conversation about what you notice in the mirror, what you would like to change and what you would prefer to leave alone. From there you can agree a plan that might begin with something gentle. There is no obligation to book a treatment on the day.

How do I keep the results going at home?

Medical-grade skincare and daily sun protection do a surprising amount of the heavy lifting between appointments. Your practitioner can recommend products suited to your skin so that in-clinic treatments last longer and your skin keeps improving in the gaps.

Come and find your walk-out glow

We cannot promise a soundtrack when you arrive, though someone on the team will almost certainly have one going. What we can promise is a calm, honest consultation with a doctor-led team who care about you looking like yourself, only more rested. If you have been curious about your skin, your lines or simply how to look a little brighter, this is a lovely place to start.
