A Year of Growth: The Treatments and Changes That Shaped Wellface in 2024

WF The Wellface Team Published 24 December 2024 · 9 min read

Every December we take a moment to look back, and 2024 gave us plenty to be grateful for. It was the year Wellface grew up a little. We opened a new flagship home in Cobham, welcomed more doctors and practitioners to the team, and added a whole layer of treatments to a menu that already covered the essentials.

None of it would have happened without the people who sit in our treatment chairs. Your trust is the reason we invest in new technology, train on it properly, and keep raising the bar for what a doctor-led clinic in Surrey and south west London should feel like.

So consider this both a thank you and a proper tour of what changed this year. If you have been curious about Morpheus8, laser resurfacing, BBL, polynucleotides or the new women's wellness treatments, here is what they are, how they work, and who they tend to suit.

A new flagship home in Cobham

The biggest change of the year was bricks and mortar. Wellface moved into a beautiful new flagship branch in Cobham, joining our sites in Esher and Wimbledon. It gave us the space to bring in larger devices, run more clinics side by side, and see patients in surroundings that match the standard of care we want to offer.

A bigger clinic is not just about looking smart. Some of the treatments we introduced this year need dedicated laser rooms, proper cooling equipment and careful safety protocols. Having the room to do that well matters. It means a Morpheus8 session and a laser resurfacing appointment can run in the same building on the same day without anyone feeling rushed.

If you have visited one of our other branches and not yet seen Cobham, it is worth the trip. And if Cobham is now your closest branch, you will find the same doctors and the same approach you already know, simply with more under one roof.

The treatments we added in 2024

For a long time Wellface has covered the basics beautifully. Anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, Profhilo, skin boosters, Hydrafacial and medical-grade skincare have always been the backbone of what we do. This year we listened to what patients kept asking for and built out the extras. Here is what joined the menu.

Morpheus8 for tighter, smoother skin

Morpheus8 combines two proven ideas into one treatment. It uses fine microneedles to create tiny channels in the skin, then delivers radiofrequency energy through those needles into the deeper layers of the dermis. That controlled warmth prompts the body to lay down fresh collagen and elastin over the following weeks and months.

The result is gradual tightening and refinement rather than a sudden change. People tend to notice firmer skin along the jawline, softer texture, smaller-looking pores and an improvement in mild laxity. Because the energy reaches deeper than microneedling alone, it can also help remodel the skin on the neck and lower face where things start to soften with age.

A session usually involves numbing cream first, so most people find it very manageable. Afterwards you can expect some redness and a slightly gritty texture to the skin for a few days, a bit like mild sunburn, and makeup can generally go back on within a day or two. Results build over roughly three months, and a short course spaced a few weeks apart often gives the most satisfying outcome.

CO2 laser resurfacing

Fractional CO2 laser is one of the most effective tools in aesthetics for texture and tone. It works by sending precise columns of laser energy into the skin, removing damaged surface cells and heating the layers below to kick off a proper repair and collagen response. Between those treated columns, healthy skin is left untouched, which is what keeps healing manageable.

CO2 resurfacing is where people turn for fine lines, sun damage, acne scarring, enlarged pores and dull, weathered texture. It is a step up in intensity from many other skin treatments, and that is exactly the point. The trade-off is more downtime. Redness, some swelling and a sandpaper-like feel to the skin are normal for several days, and the skin flakes as it renews. Most people plan it around a quieter week, and the reward is a genuinely refreshed surface once everything settles.

Because the settings can be dialled up or down, the treatment can be tailored to how much correction you want and how much recovery time you can spare. A thorough consultation is essential here so the plan fits your skin and your calendar.

BBL for pigmentation and rosacea

BBL, short for BroadBand Light, is a form of intense pulsed light therapy from Sciton. It delivers pulses of light across a range of wavelengths, and those wavelengths are absorbed by the things we want to target: the brown pigment of sun spots and the red of broken capillaries and rosacea flushing.

For pigmentation, the light heats the excess melanin so that darker patches gradually lift, flake and fade, leaving a more even tone. For redness and rosacea, it targets the tiny dilated vessels that cause the flush, calming the overall appearance of the skin. Many people describe their complexion looking clearer and brighter after a course.

It is a comfortable treatment, often likened to a light elastic band flick, with little to no downtime. Brown spots may look darker for a few days before they shed, which is a normal part of the process. BBL is usually done as a small series and then topped up periodically, and it pairs well with good sun protection to keep results looking their best.

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides were one of the treatments patients asked about most this year, and we are glad to offer the full range. These are purified fragments of DNA, often derived from salmon or trout, that work as a regenerative skin treatment. Rather than adding volume like a filler, they signal the skin to repair itself, improving hydration, elasticity and overall quality from within.

They are particularly useful in delicate areas that other treatments struggle to address, such as the thin skin under the eyes, where they can soften the look of crepiness and dark hollows. They also help calm and strengthen skin that has become thin, dull or inflamed. Treatment involves a series of tiny injections, usually two or three sessions a few weeks apart, with results developing steadily as the skin regenerates.

Women's wellness

Women's wellness became one of the most rewarding additions to the clinic this year. It covers a group of treatments and consultations focused on intimate health and confidence, areas that are often overlooked and rarely talked about openly. For many women, changes after childbirth or around the menopause affect comfort and quality of life, and there are genuine non-surgical options that can help.

As a doctor-led clinic, we approach this side of our work with the same discretion, honesty and clinical care as everything else. Consultations are private and unhurried, and the emphasis is always on what is right for you rather than what is on offer.

More treatments also on the menu

Alongside the headline additions, 2024 saw us broaden the wider portfolio too. Microneedling with radiofrequency, targeted treatments for pigmentation and rosacea, skin boosters and a fuller range of injectable regenerative options all sit alongside the classics. The idea was never to chase trends for the sake of it. It was to make sure that when someone tells us their concern, we can offer the treatment that genuinely suits it rather than the closest thing we happen to have.

A bigger team, the same doctor-led care

Growth only works if the standard of care grows with it. This year the Wellface team expanded, which means more availability across Cobham, Esher and Wimbledon and more experienced hands for the treatments we introduced. What has not changed is that Wellface is doctor-led from top to bottom, founded and guided by Dr Yasmin Tayeb and delivered by a team of doctors who take assessment, safety and honest advice seriously.

That matters most with the more advanced treatments. Lasers, radiofrequency and regenerative injectables all reward proper training and careful judgement. A good result usually comes down to who is holding the device and how well they have planned the treatment for your particular skin.

Common questions about our new treatments

Which treatment is right for me?

That really depends on your concern, your skin and how much downtime you can spare. Someone worried about laxity along the jaw might do best with Morpheus8, while sun damage and pigmentation often respond beautifully to BBL. The most reliable way to decide is a consultation, where a doctor can assess your skin in person and talk you through the realistic options.

Do these treatments involve much downtime?

It varies a lot. BBL and polynucleotides tend to fit easily around normal life, with little more than mild redness. Morpheus8 usually means a few days of redness and rough texture. CO2 laser resurfacing asks for the most recovery, often around a week, which is why we plan it carefully with you in advance.

Can I combine treatments?

Often yes, and combining is where some of the best results come from. Regenerative treatments like polynucleotides can complement resurfacing and tightening beautifully, though the order and timing need to be planned properly. Your practitioner will map out a sensible sequence rather than doing everything at once.

How soon will I see results?

Light-based treatments such as BBL can show a brighter, clearer complexion within a week or two as pigment sheds. Collagen-driven treatments like Morpheus8, CO2 laser and polynucleotides work more gradually, with results building over roughly three months as new collagen forms. Patience is part of the deal, and the improvement tends to keep developing after the course finishes.

Looking ahead to 2025 with Wellface

Thank you for being part of the Wellface family this year. Your support is what let us open the doors in Cobham, grow the team and bring in treatments we are genuinely proud to offer. We cannot wait to see what the new year brings.

If any of this has caught your eye, the best next step is a consultation. Come and meet the team at our Cobham flagship, or at our Esher or Wimbledon branches, and we will talk through your skin, your concerns and the treatments that would suit you. Here is to glowing skin and new beginnings in 2025. We look forward to seeing you.
