Emsculpt Neo treats fat without injections. Synchronised radiofrequency heats the tissue and induces fat cell apoptosis, a gradual breakdown of fat cells, while HIFEM+ works the muscle beneath. The clinical studies report 30% average fat reduction. Individual results vary.

AQUALYX® fat dissolving injections are more targeted. A doctor injects the solution directly into a localised pocket, such as the abdomen, flanks, inner thighs or chin. It breaks down the walls of the fat cells so the body can clear them over the following weeks, and results start to show after about four weeks. Most areas need 2 to 4 sessions.

Contour the body

Contour comes from the muscle and fat under the skin and from the skin itself, so a considered plan may work on both.

Emsculpt Neo shapes the layers beneath: muscle tone and localised fat on the abdomen, buttocks, thighs and flanks, arms or calves.

Sculptra for the body works on the skin above them. A doctor places microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid, which prompt your skin to rebuild its own collagen and elastin. Galderma, the maker of Sculptra, describes the goals on the arms, thighs and buttocks as firmness, smoothness and contour.

Because the two treatments work on different layers, they can be planned together, with your practitioners agreeing the order between them.

Firm crepey skin

Crepey skin is a question of collagen rather than muscle, so it calls for a different kind of treatment. It can follow weight change, or simply arrive with time.

Morpheus8 on the body combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) to stimulate collagen in the deeper layers of the skin, helping to firm loose skin and soften the look of stretch marks.

Sculptra, the regenerative biostimulator, takes a slower route, prompting your skin to rebuild collagen and elastin over time. Galderma reports that 97% of patients saw firmer skin on the body one year after treatment. Individual results vary.
