Not a filler, and that matters

Profhilo is made of hyaluronic acid, the same family as dermal fillers, but it behaves completely differently. A high concentration of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is placed just beneath the skin, where it spreads evenly rather than staying put. There it works as an internal moisturiser while signalling your skin to produce fresh collagen and elastin. Nothing is volumised, nothing is reshaped and no feature is altered. What improves is the quality of the skin itself: its tone, its texture, its firmness and that lit-from-within glow that no cream quite manages.

Why it takes two visits

Profhilo is a course, not a one-off, and we plan it that way from the start. The collagen and elastin response it triggers develops over roughly four weeks, which is why most people have two treatments spaced four weeks apart. Your four-week review is folded into that rhythm: your doctor compares your skin against your starting photographs at exactly the point the first session’s effect is showing, then places the second treatment to build on it. It is a slower way to a result, and a far better one.

The appointment itself

We book 30 to 45 minutes so nothing is rushed. Numbing cream goes on first, and the injections themselves take around fifteen minutes: small, superficial placements rather than anything deep. Straight afterwards the hyaluronic acid sits in little raised bumps at each injection point, which settle within a day as it spreads beneath the skin. Occasionally a small bruise appears, most commonly near the corner of the eyes where skin is thinnest, and fades within a week or two. Most clients are back to their morning within the hour.

A doctor at every step

Every Profhilo treatment in Cobham is carried out by Dr Yasmin Tayeb, Dr Olivia McCormack, Dr Bianca Coveva or Dr Ghazala Khan. The consultation, the injections and the four-week review all sit with the same doctor, which means the person judging your progress is the person who planned it. Your consultation is included in the treatment price, and if your doctor believes Profhilo is not the right answer for your skin, you will hear that before anything else happens.

Keeping the glow

Once the initial course is complete, results last up to a year, though every skin is different. Many of our Cobham clients settle into a top-up every six to nine months, timed at their review so the effect never fully fades. And because Cobham is our most complete clinic, your doctor can think wider than one treatment: if your skin would be better served by polynucleotides, a targeted skin booster or something else entirely, that conversation happens here too.
