Chasing Shadows: What Madonna's Face Teaches Us About Overfilling
Almost every week someone sits in Dr Yasmin Tayeb's chair and says the same thing: please don't make me look like Madonna. Here is what that really means, why filling every shadow rarely works, and how a strategic approach keeps aesthetic treatment looking like you on a good day.

All right, guys, I definitely don't want to get in trouble about this one, but I think we really need to talk about Madonna. Now, everyone who comes into my clinic says to me, Yasmin, please, whatever you do, don't make me look like Madonna. But what has Madonna had done that we don't want to copy and we don't want to give that to our patients?
So number one, she has chased every line, every shadow on her face. And by doing so, she's lost characterization and the face has just got more and more filled. Wider and bigger.
But for what? Even our children have shadows and lines and wrinkles on their face. It's part of us being human and it's part of us looking natural.
Number two, the cheeks look so overfilled. The first thing that people do is just lift and lift and do more fillers. But it looks too big and doesn't look in keeping with what she originally looked like when she was so much younger and more beautiful.
And number three, the lips are way, way too overfilled. Again, doesn't look natural, doesn't look in keeping with her background, and it doesn't look even nice and in proportion with everything else that she has. So guys, always don't chase the shadows.
Don't chase the lines and wrinkles. You need to look at yourself from a distance and see where the strategic lift and shape is going to come from, not the shadows and not the lines. You need to look at yourself from a distance.
