SKINVIVE in Wimbledon

A precise answer to tired London skin

London asks a lot of skin. Heated offices, long commutes, late nights and early starts all leave a mark, and it is usually the same one: skin that looks flat by Wednesday and feels dry by Friday. SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is a doctor-placed response to exactly that, a hyaluronic acid skin booster set as tiny microdroplets within the skin. At our Wimbledon clinic, a short walk up the hill from the station, it is planned with the same precision as any medical treatment and fitted around the realities of a working week, evenings included.

The calm reception at Wellface, where every SKINVIVE treatment begins with a consultation

What precision means here

SKINVIVE is placed as tiny microdroplets of hyaluronic acid within the skin, usually across the cheeks, and the skill lies in the pattern: where each droplet goes, how evenly the droplets are spread and which areas are better left alone. The gel is lightly cross-linked so it integrates with the surrounding tissue instead of sitting as a visible deposit. Your doctor maps the plan to your skin at consultation, so the result reads as smoother, more radiant skin rather than anything that looks worked on.

Hydration that holds

Skincare works from the outside in. SKINVIVE works within the skin. Dr Olivia McCormack, who introduced the treatment at Wellface, explains that it switches on a protein in the skin called aquaporin-3, which helps skin hold on to moisture for longer. For skin that spends its days moving between central heating, the commute and whatever the weather is doing, that is the appeal: hydration, smoothness and glow that improve from within. It changes nothing about your features, so the only thing colleagues notice is that you look well.

Planning around your diary

Every treatment starts with a consultation with one of our doctors, and where SKINVIVE is suitable, treatment may go ahead the same day. Numbing cream is usually applied first and the gel contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic. Afterwards, small raised injection points, redness or a bruise can be visible for a short time. Most people carry on as normal, but it is sensible to skip heavy make-up, a hard gym session, a hot yoga class or the sauna for the first day or so. Book with that in mind and the treatment sits neatly inside an ordinary week.

A practical timeline for events

SKINVIVE is not a same-evening fix, which matters if you are planning around a wedding, an important presentation or a holiday. The change builds over the following days and weeks as hydration improves, so it pays to book well ahead of anything important rather than the week before. Results generally last up to around six months, with the manufacturer reporting hydration benefits for up to nine months. A touch-up is sometimes needed, and your doctor will help you time treatment against the dates in your calendar that matter most.

Who it suits, and who should wait

SKINVIVE suits skin that is dry, dull, crepey in texture or simply lacking glow, and it is suitable across skin tones. It is not for everyone, and our doctors check carefully before anything is planned. Treatment is not offered:

  • During pregnancy or while breastfeeding
  • To anyone under the age of 18
  • With untreated epilepsy or porphyria
  • Where there is a tendency to hypertrophic scarring
  • With an allergy to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine

Doctors only, from first look to review

In Wimbledon, SKINVIVE is placed only by doctors: Dr Yasmin Tayeb, Dr Yosra Albeyatti or Dr Hannah Sunley. There is no published price yet; your doctor confirms it at your consultation once a plan is agreed, a £75 deposit secures the booking, and a review appointment is included. As with any injectable, rare vascular complications exist, and our doctors have emergency protocols in place. SKINVIVE also pairs well with PROFHILO®, polynucleotides and Hydrafacial, so if your skin needs more than one approach, the whole plan is built in one place.

Frequently asked questions

Most people go straight back to their day. Small raised injection points, some redness or a bruise can be visible for a short time, so it is worth avoiding heavy make-up, intense exercise and heat for the first day or so after treatment.

Yes. The clinic is open until 8pm from Monday to Thursday, and until 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays, so a consultation can fit after work rather than in place of it. Later slots are popular, so it is worth booking ahead.
