Mental Health and Aesthetics: Why Good Treatment Starts With Listening
Aesthetic treatment can be a form of self-care, but there is a fine line between feeling refreshed and hoping a procedure will fix something deeper. We look at why doctor-led clinics take time to listen, how practitioners recognise body dysmorphic disorder, what a thoughtful consultation should feel like, and why sometimes the kindest answer is not yet.

Good afternoon everyone. I hope you're having a really, really good start to the week. It's been a mental health day and mental health week last week, so I just wanted to touch base and put out a little reminder there that we see a lot of this in facial aesthetics.
We see a lot of patients who will come in, they may be going through a very, very difficult time and they try to seek treatment that may not suit them, may not be appropriate, but they seek treatment at a whim, hoping that that will make things feel a little bit better. And it's important for us as practitioners to look out for that and offer the support and help that we can. So I hope you're all feeling really well.
Best of luck to you all and I hope you have an amazing week. Take care.
