Pillow Face Explained: How to Avoid Overfilling with Dermal Fillers
Pillow face has become one of the most talked about terms in aesthetics, and rarely for the right reasons. Dr Yasmin Tayeb, founder of Wellface, explains what it actually means, why so many people end up overfilled, and how a slower, more considered approach to dermal fillers keeps your face looking like you rather than an inflated version of yourself.

What is pillow face? This word seems to be trending online everywhere. So what is it?
How do we avoid it? And how do we stay away from it as much as possible? So number one, pillow face is when patients are over, over, overfilled.
They have had too much filler put in their face, chasing every line, shadow, in every direction, in every characterization of their face. They have just over, overfilled it. So what do they end up looking like?
Like pillow face where their face is too full, too wide, and just over the top and overdone. How do we avoid it? So number one, please make sure you see a really good practitioner who doesn't have pillow face themselves.
Make sure they look good. Make sure they look natural. Make sure they move naturally.
That is going to help you keep out of a lot of trouble. Number two, try to keep in the way you used to look. Don't go over top with your fillers.
Even if it means doing a small bit at a time and doing a little bit at a time, it's much better than going over the top and then losing what you actually used to look like. Number three, you do not need your fillers redone every six months. If your fillers were done appropriately, correctly, with the right quality of medical grade products, then they don't need to be redone for at least two years.
Other than that, stay safe and stay well.
