PRP and Microneedling: The Natural Way to Rebuild Collagen and Refresh Your Skin
PRP and microneedling use your own blood to trigger collagen renewal, softening fine lines, firming skin and improving scarring, pigmentation and texture. Here is how the treatment works, what a session involves, the downtime to plan for, and how many sessions you are likely to need.

Another treatment which is really lovely at face and fillers is PRP which is platelet-rich plasma incorporated with microneedling and this I do a lot for the face. Now this is a really beautiful treatment just to tighten the face, tighten the skin, make it look a little bit more plump, improve collagen production and get all the nutrients and the growth factors and all the good stuff that's in the blood back into the skin and get it moving and stimulated. So PRP treatment, what's involved in it?
You take a sample of blood from the patient, place it in the centrifuge and then you extract the plasma, the yellow part of the blood. That plasma is injected into the face with very very fine needles and in multiple areas and by doing that you are stimulating the cells, again stimulating collagen production and you are stimulating the reparative actions of the cells in order to improve lines and wrinkles, improve areas of pigmentation, improve areas of scarring and making the face look tighter, younger and fresher. Again because this is a treatment very similar to the skin booster, the results will show after four weeks and you may want to do multiple sessions, you can't do too much PRP because you're taking from your own blood.
So some patients choose to have it done once a month, some patients choose to have it done once every three months or once a year and you can discuss that with your practitioner depending on what your area of concern is and what results we're kind of looking for. With PRP you can feel redness, you can feel tightness around the skin and the skin can feel red after treatment. So again like with all facial aesthetics treatment where lumps and bumps, bruising, discomfort can all take place because they are injectable treatments, I would recommend two weeks to let everything settle down, have a review appointment with your practitioner before going ahead and booking a really special night out or a special get together with whoever after lockdown.
So that's just one another thing to bear in mind. Any questions or concerns please do let me know and I can discuss the treatments with you more personally or do a video consultation with you. Okay?
